Founding Partner
With decades of experience at the intersection of family law and complex financial disputes, Peter is a partner at MSSG. He brings an uncommon background to his practice – before attending law school, Peter began his career as a CPA at a Big Four accounting firm, where he gained the financial acumen that continues to drive positive results.
Peter concentrates on sophisticated financial matters – cases involving the valuation of privately held businesses, executive compensation packages, real estate portfolios, private equity holdings, and other alternative investments. He represents a wide array of clients, including business founders, C-suite executives, and multi-generational wealth families. Peter applies his substantial financial experience to family law matters including divorce, child custody and parenting time, spousal and child support, paternity, prenuptial, postnuptial and separation agreements.
Beyond his financial acumen, Peter is a tireless advocate for his clients, a creative problem solver, and when necessary, a zealous litigator. He is widely regarded as a preeminent New York City divorce attorney and has established himself as a leader in the New York family law community. He is immediate past Chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Family Law Section and Co-Chair of its Legal Education Committee, a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and an active member of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association.
Peter earned his B.S. in finance and accounting from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. He is admitted to the New York and Connecticut State Bars.
